Its’s here! It’s here! Our Core Collection is here! I am so thrilled to introduce you to our Core Collection because it was designed with YOU in mind. 

Betsy Jane was founded to create clean products to inspire moments of peace. When I first started out on this journey, I quickly learned that fragrance is deeply personal. Individual preference for aroma varies based on our biology and life experience. Scent is powerful. It triggers memories and nostalgia. It transports us across space and time. It takes you back to the comfort and safety you felt in your grandmother’s garden, that unforgettable first date when your now spouse first captured your attention, the peace you feel while walking the beach and listening to the waves crash on the sand. 

Scent impacts mood and captures your attention. It makes us feel uplifted, energized, calm, present, captivated, and joyful. The variance of individual preference and the stories you share as you smell our candles is one of my favorite things. 

Our candles provide a clean, slow burn and aroma that envelops your space. They are made using all-natural soy wax, cotton wicks, and perfume quality fragrance oils and essential oils that are certified clean. They are vegan, cruelty free, and free from: dyes, Proposition 65 ingredients, carcinogens, phthalates, parabens, mutagens, and contain no reproductive, organ or acute toxins. Vessels and packaging are eco-friendly. Candles feature a high fragrance load, double cotton wicks for a strong hot throw (i.e., how they smell while burning) and are hand-poured in small batches in Wilmette, IL. 

Every candle has a story that is inspired by my memories and favorite experiences. Several are named after places in my neighborhood in the north suburbs of Chicago, along Lake Michigan (e.g., “Northshore.”). They are designed to remind you of universal experiences that bring joy, whether being outdoors in nature, or in a beautiful, warm and inviting space. 

Our collection starts with four 12 oz double-wick candles in a matte, painted, glass vessel and a luxury gift box.

  1. Northshore: Inspired by the beauty of home, which for me is in the North Shore community along Lake Michigan outside of Chicago. It smells like zesty citrus, sugared fruit, and greenery. This is an energizing and bright citrus aroma that creates a lively atmosphere in any room. It’s perfect for the kitchen or entry way. 
  2. Rose: Inspired by a mother’s love and my children, who taught me a love for myself and others that is deeper than I ever dreamed possible. Rose offers a modern twist on a classic floral aroma. It smells like green leaves, rose, and peppercorn. The peppercorn offers an enchanting balance to the floral elements. It smells like a bouquet of fresh cut roses that you would put on your kitchen table and exudes a comforting aroma. Rose makes a great hostess gift or housewarming gift. 
  3. Coast: Inspired by sunlit days along the water, and one of my favorite summer activities, which is to walk Gillson Beach along Lake Michigan in Wilmette, IL. It smells like sea salt, peony and mint. The mint provides a surprising balance to the other elements. Coast has a soothing ocean aroma, that washes away stress like the waves as they crash into the sand. 
  4. Banyan: Inspired by my husband, and a family’s strength. It smells like leather, clove and teakwood. Banyan has a lively and alluring aroma that is equal parts woody and spicy. It creates a warm and supportive atmosphere. 

We also feature a Candle Gift Set of three 2.5 oz. candles from our core collection, in matte, painted, glass vessels, and a luxury gift box. Inspired by life in the North Shore community outside of Chicago, and curated in a balanced line of aromas across three scent categories.
